Obedience Class Descriptions

This class will cover the basics of on lead obedience training geared towards puppies, with shorter training periods followed by frequent breaks as puppies have a shorter attention span than adult dogs do.

Basic on lead obedience with very few distractions for dogs over one year of age.

This class is for dogs that have completed basic obedience and are ready to continue their training using a long line and some added distractions.

To be eligible for this class you must have either completed a basic obedience class with us or can show the instructor that your dog is ready to move up to long line work.

This class is done all off lead with many distractions. To be eligible for this class you must have either completed the previous 2 levels or can show the instructor that your dog is ready to work off lead.

This class is for anyone interested in either entering the show ring for the first time or polishing up the skills they already have.

You will learn how to properly exhibit your dog for judging, what is expected in the show ring, show ground etiquette, proper equipment use, some grooming tips for the show ring and what the judge is looking for in both yourself and your dog.

Junior handlers are welcome to attend these classes as well as adults.

CLASSES, DROP IN SESSIONS, SEMINARS

These groups will be held on a drop-in basis so you will not have to commit to any more sessions than you have time for.

For Puppies, teaching social skills at an early age helps your best friend learn how to behave around other people and dogs while gaining confidence and overcoming fears of strange and new environments and situations.

Adult dog socialization is aimed towards dogs that are over a year old that need some extra socialization time in a safe and fun setting.

Please call for information about the next class.

Kids & Dogs is a family friendly activity that is geared towards working with children and their dogs to help form a lifelong bond of friendship and trust. Children of all ages and abilities including those with special needs are encouraged to come.
